American Rivers Exhibit

This mural was part of a traveling exhibit produced by Explus, Inc.,of Dulles, VA, for USGS celebrating the 200th anniversary of the travels of Lewis and Clark on the upper Missouri River. The original painting ( acrylic on masonite, 19" x 48") was digitally enlarged and printed on panels that formed a 180 degree half-cylinder backdrop around the circular base, on which sat the 3-dimensional bow of the boat actually protruding from the mural. Unfortunately, I never saw the finished exhibit in its entirety. The images here are of the finished painting. The boat rigging, more snags in the river and fauna in the skies and shore were added to the final version.
