daybreak studios is the commercial entity of Clarence Schumaker a.k.a. Shoe who is an artist who works and lives on Chesapeake Bay.
What?
In addition to producing commissioned artwork for individuals, businesses, and various government entities, I also create original paintings, sculptures, and graphics for sale to the general public through a variety of venues in and around the Washington DC, Annapolis & Baltimore metro areas.
When?
A Brief History: After earning an A.A. from Prince Georges Community College in 1984, I worked as a Technical Illustrator (Secret Clearance) for DOD contractors before going back to school to earn a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1988. I worked my way through college in a variety of shops until founding my own business, daybreak studios in 1990.
Although basically a one-man operation, I've been privileged with the ability to call on some serious talent from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region when I've needed the help and /or the work! You know who you are... Thanks Again!
Where?
daybreak studios is located on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay about 30 miles south-east of Washington, D.C., and about 60 miles south of Baltimore, in the town of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.
