Ridge Visitor Center, Skyline Drive, Virginia
Another visitor center collaboration with Color-Ad, Inc. (and David Currier,
of Charlottesville, Virginia, who created all the trees and
other pieces). The exhibit of synthetic representations of various
indigenous flora & fauna is displayed with beautiful photomurals
among custom cabinetry and graphic interactives. My contribution
(producing most all of the models of the critters and the fallen log and stream cutaway) was only a part of the exhibit, which I managed
to complete in approximately six months. All the models were created
using a variety of materials; however, the primary medium employed
with every model was Polygem
sculpting epoxy. The ease of use and variable properties make it
the finest product I've ever used.
